One of
the best decisions any person can make is the choice of getting in better
shape. The one main concern that most people have lies with the questions: How
do I get started? and What should I do to get the results I want?
If you
are like most people, you will notice that when you think of getting in better
shape, you might think of gyms and dieting programs. If these two thoughts are
on your mind, let me shed some light on the subject by sharing with you some of
the realities of getting in shape.
First
off let me start by saying, CONGRATULATIONS on making the decision to get in
shape. I wish you the best on your journey to living a healthier life.
Now
with that said, let me share with you the most common beliefs most people have
about getting in shape.
First
and foremost the thought of how much work it might be to get in shape might
hinder your efforts even before you start. So stop right now and ask your-self,
how important is it to get in shape? Or should I instead ask; how important is
your health to you?
When
you begin to work towards getting in shape, your health begins to notice some
benefits. Now I think you would agree that improving your health is a good
enough reason to begin to get into better shape.
Here is
a secret for you that you may not know; the first couple weeks of consistent
following through with your health and fitness program is the hardest part,
after that first couple weeks has gone by with your consistent efforts, you
will begin to find that the program you are following begins to get easier,
much easier.
Once
you reach the end of your first two weeks, you will begin to notice changes in
your body, both internal and external. You begin to breathe easier, sleep
sounder, your mood is better, and your clothes should begin to fit you a little
different.
Now
please understand, there is no such thing as a magic pill, or diet. All of your
efforts will begin to show and you will notice little things in the mirror, and
from people looking at you and complimenting you on how your clothes fit and
the lift in your mood.
If you
find yourself falling into the; same workout, same foods boring place, then
maybe meeting with a personal trainer and discussing your options will help you
out.
