Quick Tips to Boost Your Metabolism

Increasing your metabolism enables you to maintain your weight and burn fat/calories faster and easier with less activity. Your metabolism rate is the rate by which the body uses energy and burns more calories to help you maintain a healthy weight.

There are several factors that affect your metabolism, factors such as the amount of muscle tissue you have, the frequency of the meals you consume, stress levels, choice of foods and your activity level.

The first main reason your metabolism slows down is due to the loss of muscle because of decreased physical activity. The second main reason is the amounts and types of foods you eat and when you eat them.

Here are several ways to fire up your metabolism:

1. Increase your lean body mass. (develop muscle)

2. Eat the right amount of meals everyday and include the proper portion sizes of those meals.

3. Avoid the sweets. (cut out or at least cut back on the sweet snacks)

4. Add spice to your life. (add a little spiciness to your foods)

5. Get the proper rest for your activity level. (no more, no less)

6.Stay hydrated. (drink the amount of water you need for your body type/weight)

7. Never skip meals. (eat to maintain your weight, or eat to loose weight)

8. Lower your level of stress the best you can. (stress increases the level of cortisol in the body, which in turn makes you gain weight)

9. Add more energy increasing foods to your diet, foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. (eat these by portion size, not more then that)

So make the decision to increase your metabolism and make the smarter healthier choices through out your day, and enjoy your results.
